We hiked in Switzerland in 2009. We stopped at this place to rest and I saw the image immediately, asked Chris to hold still, and took the photo. It was easy to see but the shadows in this painting kept me struggling for a few sessions. This is my first painting that includes a figure; I did "cop out" by choosing one with his back to me. I think he's happy with it though.

Chris in the Berner Oberland SW Oil on board 11x14
We hiked in Switzerland in 2009. We stopped at this place to rest and I saw the image immediately, asked Chris to hold still, and took the photo. It was easy to see but the shadows in this painting kept me struggling for a few sessions. This is my first painting that includes a figure; I did "cop out" by choosing one with his back to me.
